20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Have you come face to face with me, O my hater? And he said, I have come to you because you have given yourself up to do evil in the eyes of the Lord.

Verse 20. Moreover the corrupted church, or the man who has confirmed himself in evil, is made sensible that he cannot escape the scrutiny of Divine Truth, which testifies that it is opposed to his life: and that this judgment is the natural result of a state of confirmed evil which resists Divine Truth from Divine Good.
