20 And there were the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, by their births, as to their families, as to the house of their fathers, according by the number of the names, as to their polls, every male from a son of twenty years and upward, all who go out with the army;

Verse 20. And during regeneration faith in the understanding, which has priority according to spiritual birth, as to its spiritual and celestial life, and according to its specific quality, individual experience, intelligence in truths, the reception of the good of truth, and capacity for spiritual conflict.
